Just another WordPress.com weblogWe like cars that go BOOM
You do realize had we had the internet back in our day – this would have totally been us on the internet at their age probably signing this very song:
Feeling old
When I read about a Beastie Boy member having cancer what I am really feeling is old not oh how sad, I hope he recovers, we need more cancer research funding, no I think to myself “damn I’m getting so old that my artists are getting cancer”.

vintage ad
“Blow in her face and she’ll follow you anywhere” — Sure, yeah, ahhh…”blow in my face” and I’m yours for life – No wonder women of our Moms generations and prior stayed in shitty marriages way too long if they had advertising like this telling them crap like this.
You should whip it
Dude, we’ve established that roller derby really was your calling, but seriously, you should have been in this movie as the star roller derby bad ass (although I’m not sure if you can skate or not). And yeah, this movie looks good, I can’t believe Drew is now making/directing films. She isn’t messing around with establishing her career. I’m wondering though if her style of late isn’t a reflection of something she is going through, although, she has all these big kid jobs I wonder if she actually relates more to someone who is Ellen Page’s age? Maybe her style is her trying to stay younger than we actually are.
catchy tune
The fug girls were talking about this singer so I looked her up b/c I didn’t recgonize her name and saw this song has some 11 million you tube views. Anyway, it is a decent song – catch for sure.
orgasm a day, keeps doc away
Hey,
Did you read this story about Britian PSA that among eating right, excercise, and two orgasms a week help keep us healthy. I think that is such an incredible message to send b/c I think it would help normalize sexuality and self-sexuality. But of course, people are freaking out saying it is going to tell kids to start having sex, blah blah blah. What about the saying PREVENTION IS NOT PERMISSION don’t people understand.

You knowwe grow up in teh 1980s and 90s and I learned from PSAs that I needed to use condoms so I wouldn’t get HIV. And you know what, I still did the same shit kids do but I knew to use a condom b/c I didn’t want to get HIV. Although back then the messages were really fear based b/c if you think about it, it was the era where HIV was proported as a death sentence (no longer is), but this “Orgasm a day” PSA is brilliant because it is promoted self-empowerment, respect, care, etc…
It is nice to see us moving away from fear based health messages into empowerment based PSA, maybe it is the “Yes we can” attitude?
Speaking of O Face – you need to watch this Office Space O Face Remix:
The Westest Gum Ever
m-
I really wish I could have seen the look on your face the first time you saw the new Orbit gum commercial. Now if you haven’t check it out here
I love gum, you know that, but this even bothers me although every time I see the commercials for the Mist I think of you and just laugh.

Hairdryer trauma
D.,
My hairdryer broke last week and I haven’t gotten a new one yet. I’ve been reverting back to old ways and using the hairdryer for hours on end while working for heat and noise. I have my space heater, but I had opted recently for my hairdryer for the noise I think. I’ve realized how much comfort I gain from that noise of the hairdyer.
The reason I bring this is up is because I wonder if “THEY” ever talk about using white noise to soothe an upset baby?
And speaking of babies, we were talking yesterday about planning, you know, family planning. And we are both thinking about whether or not to actively try on ovulation days in Sept., that would give us a June due date (out of school for summer date). But that is such a complicated thing to decide, so much to weigh when is the right time, etc….
This guy…
So this male doctor and midwife is saying that pain in childbirth in preparing women for the responsiblity of a child, right. He claims that epidurals take away the needed pain, etc..Then the article challenges his idea by asking about how do fathers prepare for the responsiblity since they don’t have the pain in labor experience. Interesting discussion in this article.
I have two commens to this guys belief system: 1) Why is there so much pain in childbirth? If nature designed the process then why the painfulness of the very natural process (besides the physical reality of what is happening – why hasn’t evolution minimized the pain some?). 2) I’m just not as willing to hear a man’s take on something such as childbirth, I really do prefer women’s physical issues to be discussed by women – then again, a raging female republican like Palin would not be someone I’d want talking about my birthing rights.
